BOOHAHAHAHA!

October 16, 2013 By admin Leave a Comment

Late October and Halloween are my favorite time of the year.  There’s so much going on and so many good things to eat.   And…there’s pumpkin everything – from ravioli to cake.    A cold front is moving in today bringing us some real fall sweater weather and hopefully some colorful trees.

It’s also time for all that spooky stuff.  And there’s plenty of that happening in Madison.  The elegant Lanier Mansion is being taken over by Night Spirits, Friday October 17 from 7-9pm.  “Each ‘spirit’ will tell a true, shocking tale related to their life, or death.  Reservations recommended, call 812-265-3526.

On the 18th & 19th, there’s a Haunted Mystery Trolley Tour that leaves from the gazebo on Vaughn Dr. There will be treats & tricks, for sure. Call 812-701-4113 for reservations. It’s October so dress warmly. Don’t miss this once a year favorite. You can choose either 7 or 8:30pm. Not recommended for children 10 and under.

The Jefferson County Public Library has Professional Paranormal Investigations on October 19th at 1pm at the Madison branch and at 3:30pm at the Hanover branch. Look at all new photos and video evidence not seen or heard publicly before. Question & Answer session follows the presentation.

It just keeps getting creepier at Haunted Cozy Acres on October 25th. There will be haunted golf car rides, games, costumed mini-golf and more. This should get you primed to continue the celebration at Spooky Mansion (Lanier Mansion) on the 26th from 6-8pm. The kids will love trick or treating, ghost stories (not too scary), creepy crafts and a trip through the spine-tingling basement. Only $3 per child, 1 free adult per child.

Not creeped out yet? Thomas Family Winery goes all out for their annual Halloween Party on the 26th from 8-11pm. Costumes are required. Make sure you are decked out – everyone else will be.

The city of Madison is hosting their Red, White & Boo on the 31st at the Broadway Fountain. The first 500 kids will take home a bag of goodies, costume contest, games and general mayhem. 6-8pm
