Not Your Everyday Santa

December 4, 2013 By admin Leave a Comment

Enjoy old-fashioned Christmas fun for children and their families at The Spirit of Christmas Past on Saturday, Dec. 14 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the historic Lanier Mansion State Historic Site and Lanier-Madison Visitors Center, located on the north bank of the Ohio River.

“This year’s program is extra special,” explained Site Manager Gerry Reilly. “Because of our sponsors, we are able to offer this year’s Christmas event for free. This is great since the Lanier Mansion provides a really grand setting for children wanting to visit Santa.”

Children will be able to take part in a variety of activities including making ornaments for the mansion tree and creating Christmas cards at the card-making station. Master storyteller Bob Hartsaw will recount fascinating Christmas tales as guests delight themselves in the gift shop.  The highlight of the day will be a visit from Father Christmas, a Victorian Santa, in Lanier Mansion’s north parlor.
