$12.95 for Children ages 6-12
Children 5 and under are free.

Tickets include: a 1-hour guided tour on the Madison Trolley Line, admission to the Madison Railroad Station Museum, a commemorative ticket, and discounted admission to the Jefferson County History & Art Center.

Ticket sales close 5 minutes before each tour time.

Tickets can be purchased in-person at the Madison Railroad Station Museum up to 30 minutes prior to tour times or online anytime. Please arrive 5-10 minutes before your tour time to check-in at the Madison Railroad Station Museum. The trolley does not have restroom facilities onboard.

  • What is the seating capacity of the trolley? 30
  • Is the trolley wheelchair accessible? Yes! Please call ahead to the Visitors Center (812-265-2956) or email [email protected] to book.
  • Can I explore all of Madison in one-day? With so many landmarks, museums, and shops, it can be overwhelming to see everything Madison has to offer in just one day. The trolley will provide a good starting point!
  • Does the trolley run on Holidays and Holiday Weekends? Check the event calendar for future dates!

Booking & Pricing

  • How do I book purchase a ticket for the guided tour? Click on the month you’d like to book tickets for to be taken to our ticketing page, or come to the Madison Railroad Station Museum up to 30 minutes prior to a scheduled tour to purchase in-person.
  • How far in advance should I book? You can book whenever! Currently, you can book up out to the end of the year online. You can also purchase tickets up until 5 minutes prior to the tour.
  • Are there any packages available for large groups (e.g. field trips, reunions, birthday parties, etc)? Send an inquiry to [email protected] for your group or event!
  • What is your cancellation policy? While we do not offer refunds, we do allow you to shift your tour to a new date and or time. Call the Visitors Center for assistance at 812-265-2956.

Route

  • Can we choose our own route? This is a pre-set guided tour, so we won’t be able to stop anywhere not already built into the tour.
  • How long is the tour? The tour runs approximately 60 minutes.
  • Do we have to start at stop #1? Yes, the tour will start & end at the Madison Railroad Station Museum. If you are interested in a hop-on, hop-off schedule where you can pick, visit our event calendar or free routes page! Every Summer Sunday and Fourth Friday are FREE hop-on, hop-off loop routes downtown.

  • Can we bring food or drinks on the trolley? Yes
  • Is alcohol permitted on board? No

Rules & Guidelines

  • Are there any age restrictions for passengers? No 
  • Can we bring pets on the trolley? If it is a certified service animal with proper documentation, yes. 
  • What are the rules for playing music during the ride? Since this is a guided tour with a trained tour guide narrating the journey, we kindly request no music be played during the tour.
  • Is smoking or vaping allowed on the trolley? No
  • No fireworks or firearms 

Payment

  • When is the payment due? Payment is due when you purchase your tickets. No seats will be guaranteed until a ticket is purchased.
  • What forms of payment do you accept? We are a cashless experience. Please have a debit or credit card handy to purchase tickets.
  • Is gratuity included, or should we tip the driver? Please tip the drivers & guides! Signage will be posted to pay them directly using a QR code, OR you can drop cash into the tip jar at the front of the trolley.
