Take the scenic route in Madison!

Madison is home to several trails and hiking spots ranging in difficulty and length. Head on over to Clifty Falls State Park to explore their 10+ trails offering stunning views of the waterfalls and Ohio River Valley.

In Historic Downtown Madison, you can take on the challenging and picturesque The Heritage Trail which follows the old railroad from the west end of Vaughn Drive to a paved section, north of Crooked Creek, that ascends the wooded hillside to the State Hospital. The 1 1/4 mile long paved pathway is ideal for jogging, walking, biking, and hiking. The trail is a steep climb, but it offers a beautiful view of the river valley and safe access to the hilltop.

Hatcher Hill Trail is a hiking & biking trail that is perfect for those looking for a shorter jaunt coming in at 3/4 of a mile long. Parking for the trail can be found at 1215 North Walnut Street.
