Heading to Hanover College?

If Hanover College is in your future, be in the know about historic Madison!

Founded in 1827, Hanover College is the oldest private four-year college in Indiana. This historic campus also just happens to sit next to the largest National Historic Landmark District in the United States! Our combined history makes us the perfect neighbors. If you’re here for a special event, on an admissions visit, or are new to campus, you’ve got to check out Madison!

Just a ten minute drive away from our Historic Downtown District, Hanover College sets atop the Ohio River Valley boasting the only location where you can view the river bend three times. After you make your way down Hanover Hill, explore our locally-owned shops and eateries, historic architecture, and maybe even take a self-guided walking or driving tour! Many of our local businesses and world-wide industries have connections to Hanover College and employ Panthers with pride! After you’ve explored Main Street, take a stroll along our riverfront and stop at one of the many benches lining the way to enjoy the views. There is so much to experience here!

Coming in from out of town? Whether you’re here for an admissions visit, sporting event, musical performance, or Homecoming Weekend, make the most of your trip! Book your stay today at one of our several hotels, historic bed & breakfasts, guest houses, or log cabins to make your time in Madison memorable! Be sure to check out our event calendar to see what’s happening during your stay. If you’re a live music fan, history buff, antique lover, or self-proclaimed artist, you’ll find your fix here in Madison!

Students: don’t forget that when you’re nearing graduation, connect with the Madison Area Chamber of Commerce about employment opportunities in Jefferson County! Lots of Hanover graduates choose to stay in our community and build their life after college here. What adventures could await you?
