Looking for a night out on the town? A great place to start; Crystal & Jules right on Main Street. One of Crystal’s wonderful Hostesses with greet you at the door (yes and it is a good idea to call and make a reservation 812 274-1077). Of course, your evening wouldn’t be complete until Chef Andy comes out to greet you and ask how your meal is going. Be sure to tell them you love the renovations they have done to the building.
Okay, let’s start talking culinary delights. Chef Andy is always looking for new entrees, which is really exciting. The other night Kay Lou had stuffed chicken, Caesar salad and sugar snaps, while I had to have the Beef Filet with Horseradish, asparagus and tortilla soup with my draft Modelo.
I know.. come on Dave, get to the desserts: well, I shouldn’t eat in front of Kay Lou since she is on a low-carb program, but I had to have his famed Crème Brulee with his special vanilla bean.
Andy was telling us about his other creations: Steak Tartare (raw beef finely chopped with shallot caper, a raw egg yoke on top); Fresh Salmon with Horseradish Cream & Lemon Curd; we talked to Wade Schaum while he enjoyed Lobster in a pesto sauce and homemade noodles; and I couldn’t keep up with Rodney Nay with his Filet, Asparagus, Hollandaise, and Mash…man, I am getting hungry just trying to finish this blog. I better decide where we are eating tonight…don’t forget…get out and support our local businesses and ENJOY!
