National Historic Landmark 

Step back in time to explore this award-winning Greek Revival restoration! This house was built in 1846-1849 for Charles L. Shrewsbury and was later owned by John and Ann Windle, founders of Historic Madison, Inc. This home was designed by Francis Costigan and is adorned with ornately carved stonework, elaborate iron railings, a spiral staircase, intricate plaster moldings, 12-foot tall doors, and 16-foot high ceilings.

Admission is $15 per adult. Students and children are free.  

2024 Tours Begin February 2, 2024 and continue throughout the month on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, & Saturdays at 1:30PM. The site will be closed on February 13 & 19, 2024.

Please note that group tours (10+ people) and event rentals are still welcomed and encouraged, please call 812-265-2967 if you have any requests.
