It’s four days after Christmas, and I’m here at Kangaroos Family Fun Center with my 6-year old daughter. Today is the fourth day our family has taken advantage of their holiday schedule of being open 11 am to 9 pm during Christmas break. We will also be attending a birthday party here this week, making this our official winter hangout.

The four owners of Kangaroos, Jason and Cassie Hall, and Jonathan and Carrie Simpson, have done a fabulous job of providing a much-needed indoor play place for kids that includes a wide variety of ages. The Elephant inflatable is designated for kids 5 and under. The other castles, slides and obstacle courses are open to older kids, even adults if they pay the $6. I think that’s fair! The spacious environment makes it easy to supervise kids from the couches or in the wide-open standing space between inflatables.

I am impressed by how this family owned business is open to suggestions and responding to the needs of the community. For example, Kangaroos opened their doors early accommodate those affected by last November’s snow day. I will continue to call or check their Facebook page on snow days, holidays and Spring Break to see how they will expand their hours for those occasions.

For my family to have fun at an indoor play place I usually look for cleanliness, comfortable seating, and healthy snacks. A huge bonus is free WIFI. Kangaroos has all this and more for a very reasonable price. As I type this, I am sitting at a tall table, able to watch my daughter and her friends through the window, and simultaneously watch Daddy Day Care. It is a multitasking parent’s dream.
