Spring is here! As the blooming begins here in Madison, so does the opportunity to get out and enjoy the beauty around us. Though the chill has settled in this week, let’s not forget the warm embrace of last week’s high temperatures. We like to think it’s just a brief intermission before the grand entrance of spring as many native Hoosiers are accustomed to.

We have lots of unique events, experiences, and workshops to enjoy this spring. All of which you can view on our calendar. However, to celebrate the beginning of spring we’d like to highlight a few of the everyday activities you can enjoy here in Madison, IN.

1. Stroll Along the Riverfront

Madison’s riverfront is a tranquil spot where the Ohio River calmly passes by. A walk along this scenic route during spring is especially enchanting as the area features blooming flowers and lush greenery. The riverfront is perfect for leisurely walks, morning jogs, or simply sitting on a bench, soaking in the serene view. And if you’re wondering – it’s approximately 1.3 miles!

2. Picnic in Bicentennial Park

Bicentennial Park offers a green oasis amidst the town’s charming architecture. Spring is the ideal time to lay down a picnic blanket, unpack a basket of your favorite snacks, and enjoy a meal with the nearby view of the riverfront.
