Starting the New Year

January 10, 2013 By VisitMadison Leave a Comment

We’re all back from our holiday vacations and trying to get into the swing of things again.  So I thought I’d start things slow and give you a little overview of things to come.

There a a couple of new and exciting things happening in 2013.  The American Queen & Queen of the Mississippi will be back in Madison for a return visit.  You’ll also see a new business along the riverfront – the only Jet Boat rides on the Ohio River.  Wild Thing Jet Boat Rides will be operating every day May – October.  You will be able to choose a wild ride with spins, slides and splashes or a relaxed sightseeing ride up the Ohio & Kentucky Rivers.  Can’t wait but I’m not sure if I can handle the wild ride.

This sounds like a fun way to start the year off right.  Celebrate Mardi Gras at Hanover College’s Mardi Gras Winter Gala on February 8.  Party with Mojo & the Bayou Gypsies.  Advance reservations ONLY.  Includes dinner.

It looks like the Madison Community Theater will be offering several productions for 2013 starting with French Kisses on February 15 & 16.  Just in time for Valentine’s Day.  The Lanier Mansion has murder on mind on February 9th with the Sweetheart Murder Mystery.  You help apprehend the culprit!  Call 812-273-4531 to reserve for Lanier.
