Looks and Sounds Like a Great Weekend in Madison

July 26, 2012 By VisitMadison Leave a Comment

It seems like the summers in Madison are getting more and more filled with activities. It is really great to find something to do every weekend, but this weekend I will miss out on the events. I will be camping with my family, which is also great!

This Friday, July 27th, the streets will be filled once again with musicians, visual artists and hopefully patrons and spectators enjoying the evening. It’s the 4th Friday Art Jam! There is also an Art Opening at Village Lights bookstore during this 4th Friday Art Jam for painter Maureen O’Hara Pesta and photographer Jesse Pesta from 5-9pm. I will have to check out the work next week.  With this Art Jam as with the last, there will be the “Alley Art Fair” next to Art on Main in the Alley.  It’s a great chance to talk to the artists about what they are doing, as they will be set up selling art, or plein air painting. The Art Jam is all over downtown from 5-8pm .

This Sunday there is a benefit concert for John Paul Park, featuring some of Madison’s most talented musicians.  Jessi Curtis, Dave Dwyer, Erik Brunner, Greg Ziesemer and Kriss Luckett, Jimmy Davis and Rusty Bladen will all be performing from 3 to 6 pm Sunday at John Paul Park. The concert is free, but donations are accepted.

I hope everyone in town gets out and enjoys these great happenings right here in Madison this weekend! Please comment here and let me know how things went.
