Pet Friendly
Planning a trip is fun, but planning a trip where your dog can come along is even better!
Madison offers plenty to do with your four-legged friend if you’re the person who’s always asking “can I bring my dog?” From outdoor dining options to homemade dog treats, you and your furry friend are in for a good time in Madison!
Strap on your hiking boots and grab a water (and a bowl for your pup!) to set out on one of Clifty Falls’ hiking trails. Together, you and your pet can explore all of the sights (and sniffs) of this beautiful state park that’s right in the heart of Madison. With over ten trails to choose from, you’ll be sure to get some great exercise in for you and for Fido!
Need some caffeine? Swing by Analog Coffee & Records and enjoy your coffee and your dog can enjoy a pup cup while people watching along one of the busiest sidewalks in the downtown area.
While you’re downtown, you can also enjoy the spacious, fenced-in, and off-leash Madison’s Lykos Riverfront Dog Park, a free use facility! This way your pup can enjoy free range fun as you take in the gorgeous views of the mighty Ohio River while you’re playing fetch. Open dawn to dusk with separate areas for large and small dogs.
After you’ve worked up an appetite on the trail or at the dog park, stop by one of our several restaurants in Downtown Madison that offer dog-friendly outdoor patio dining! Individual policies for each establishment apply. Look for dog-friendly stops in our directory!
In the mood for a heartier meal? The Red Pepperoni has a wide array of options from pizzas to salads along with beautiful outdoor patio seating for you and your pup to enjoy.
If you’re feeling more of a cheeseburger and French fries, Hinkle’s is the perfect place! They have several picnic tables outside of their restaurant that is perfect for a dog-friendly dining option.
Top off your trip with a frozen margarita or craft beer from the MAD LOVE eat+drink! They have an outdoor patio setting where you can enjoy the scenery just as much as your pup will enjoy getting lots of pets and attentions from other restaurant-goers. If you’re more partial to wine, visit our local wineries like Thomas Family Winery that also has a great outdoor area for you and your four-legged friend to explore!
Looking to pamper yourself after an active day in Madison? Stop by Fountain Alley Bodycare and prepare to be awed by their wide assortment of everything from bath bombs to beard oil!
Want to commemorate your fun trip with a Madison t-shirt? Madison Made is the perfect place! Find the perfect souvenir here that is puppy approved!
